We have a fantastic opportunity for a Play Worker to work in our well established and growing Out of School Club, based at Pinhoe Primary School which is located in Pinhoe, Exeter. The post holder will support the day to day activities of the club, providing stimulating activities and a high standard of care for children between the ages of 4 - 12 years old, in a safe and secure environment. You will support the development of the activities and opportunities provided to the children and ensure that these meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
You must have a keen interest in understanding child development, have a sense of humour, energy and fun. An understanding of safeguarding and child protection and a passion for working with children is essential.
We are looking for a self-motivated and committed individual who can take the initiative and can work in an energetic and fun environment. You must be able to work well in a team and support others to provide care to our children in an enabling and stimulating environment. Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with parents and carers will be a key to your success. Ideally qualified to Level 2 but unqualified with a view to training to Level 2 would be considered. Experience in either Childcare or Play work would be an advantage. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to children and their needs, and understand the supportive nature of the role.
The club is open from 8am-9am and 3pm-6pm, Monday to Friday term time, and 8am-6pm during school holidays. Dolphins out of school club is based in Pinhoe Primary School which is located in Pinhoe, Exeter.
The closing date for applications is Friday 31 January 2017. Dates for Interviews and observed activity sessions will be held during the week commencing the 13 February 2017.
