Class Of Their Own provides high quality, child-centred out of School care for children aged 4 to 11 years in 17 different locations across Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Shoreham and Sompting. We are looking to recruit 3 new Supervisors for our clubs at Our Lady of Lourdes in Rottingdean, Balfour Junior School in Brighton and Brunswick Infants in Hove.

The successful applicants will have experience of working with children of primary school age; experience of successful implementation of behaviour strategies; familiarity with supporting children with additional needs; excellent ideas about how to implement a variety of play types; an excellent understanding of Health & Safety issues; an excellent understanding of inclusive practice; an understanding of and ability to implement Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); a strong play focus with a good understanding of, and belief in, the Playwork Principles; an understanding of children's physical and emotional needs; the ability to lead and manage a team of Playworkers and good interpersonal skills.

The After School Club Supervisor is responsible for delivering innovative and interesting activities to support children's play. This is done through the management of the Club team, following Class Of Their Own's policies and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the Club. For the right person, this is an interesting, varied and rewarding role. This list is not exhaustive, however, duties will include: planning, organising and evaluating the provision of inclusive, safe, caring and stimulating play in an environment which meets the needs of the individual children; being a positive role model; managing, leading and inspiring a team of Playworkers by recognising good and addressing poor performance; providing training; organising effective staff meetings; conducting appraisals and deploying the team effectively; handling the day to day administration, including managing the Club budgets and providing varied and interesting equipment and snacks; establishing open, honest and supportive relationships with a range of stakeholders; ensuring the setting follows and complies with the company's policies and procedures and endorses Class Of Their Own's Vision around quality, integrity and respect; carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.

Hours of work will be between 2.45pm and 6.15pm Monday to Friday, with an additional 4hrs per week for administration duties.  There is also the opportunity to work in our Holiday and Breakfast Clubs and with our Party Service.  Applications from those wishing to work flexibly are welcome.  We offer ongoing training and the opportunity to progress within the company.
