Super Camps is the UK's number 1 provider of school holiday childcare and activity camps, operating at over 80 venues nationwide. Reporting to the Super Clubs Manager and working closely with the wider Super Camps team, the Super Clubs Play Worker is responsible for the delivery of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities within a leading school environment.

Appointment is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and two satisfactory references.

Duties of the role include:

  • Helping ensure safe arrival of children at the club and the safe delivery to carers at end of day
  • Taking part in the delivery of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities in a fun and caring environment
  • Keeping children safe and minimizing risks in the play environment
  • Providing snacks/refreshments to the children ensuring that hygiene, health and safety measures are met.
  • Administering first aid as appropriate
  • Being responsible for setting up the room, including moving furniture, and tidying the club rooms at the end of the day
  • Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
  • Assisting with club administration, as guided by the Super Clubs Manager
  • Liaising with parents and involving them in the Super Clubs experience
  • Promoting good communication within the School environment, and wider Super Camps Organisation.
  • Working within agreed policies and procedures, being aware of staff responsibilities around the Safeguarding of children in our care

Person specification:

  • Experience or working with 4 – 11-year-old children in a play environment, and understanding their needs.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • An appropriate qualification in Childcare or Play work at NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate training is essential

Hours 30 per week during term time - Monday to Friday:

Breakfast care: 7:00am – 9:00am
After school care: 2:30pm to 6:30pm
Salary: £15,000 dependant on skills and experience (term time only)
