Out of School Alliance - Help and Support for Out of School Clubs

Proposed new regulation

On 16 July 2013 the Department for Education launched a new consultation covering its proposals to shake up the regulation of childcare settings. Part of the plan is to replace the current Childcare Register with a Child Safety Register, and at the same time to remove the inconsistencies that exist between the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the Early Years Register and the Childcare Register. In addition the DfE proposes making a number of changes specifically aimed at making it quicker and easier for out of school clubs to open.
