The Role

If you have a happy disposition and bags of energy - you are the one for us! We are looking for an experienced and caring Play Worker for our Before and After School care provision, that starts in September.

Minimum Level 2 - Early Years and Childcare Qualification

We pride ourselves as a very positive and open school, where staff enjoy providing a fantastic educational experience for all the children in their care and where excellent communication with parents and carers is highly valued.

Under the supervision of the Manager, the Deputy Manager will assist in organising the provision, deliver and support some of the children’s sessions and ensure the provision is of the highest quality. You must therefore have good communication skills, ability to work as a team member, as well as demonstrating leadership skills.

Working hours: 25 hours per week

The post holder would run the Before and After-School care provision from:

7.30 a.m. – 9.00 a.m. (Children attending from 7.30am to 8.45am) – (1.5 hours)

2.45 p.m. – 6.15 p.m. (Children attending from 3.10 – 6.00pm) – (3.5 hours)

Key Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Can create an exciting, stimulating, and safe environment for pupils attending the club
  • Can work with our team to ensure the best provision for pupils
  • Can initiate and encourage age and stage appropriate  play opportunities for children
  • Can relate well and communicate effectively at all levels with other staff members, parents and pupils
  • Have a play work qualification NVQ Level 2 or above - this is highly desirable
  • Have some experience of working with children in a ‘play-work’ environment
  • First aid and food hygiene qualifications would be desirable, but training can be provided
