Coton Home Club seeks a fun, friendly, organised Playworker to work with the staff, parents and children in this purpose built, newly designed setting based at Coton CofE Primary School,  in the pretty village of Coton, within easy biking distance of Cambridge.

Responsible to: The Manager

Duties will include:

  • To assist in the Club, helping to ensure its smooth and reliable operation, under the direction of the play leader as appropriate.
  • To help ensure the safety of the children’s arrival and departure; including ensuring the safe collection of Key Stage 1 children to and from school and after school activities and home club.
  • To help the play leader to provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children, with creative and appropriate play opportunities.
  • To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children at the Club in the event of a fire/drill or other emergency.
  • To act in a responsible manner towards children at all times.
  • To be a key-worker for EYFS children.
  • To be responsible, with other team members, for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained and stored and for reporting any worn or damaged materials to the Play leader.
  • To help to ensure that the areas used by the club are left tidy and clean.
  • If qualified, to administer or supervise any first aid as required and appropriate.
  • To liaise with parents and others to promote goodwill towards the Club and its efficient operation.
  • To work towards necessary qualifications and completing required training courses, as directed by the manager.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the management or play leader.

Training and experience

  • Ideally NVQ2 or 3 in childcare, or to be willing to work towards NVQ2.
  • Essential training: Child Protection; food safety; SEND and ENCO designated person if needed.
  • Paediatric First Aid
