The Winter Olympics start in PyeongChang, South Korea on 9 February and end on the 25th. A total of 94 nations will be represented, six of which will be making their Winter Olympic debut.
With such worldwide significance, I thought it might be a good idea to use this as the basis for some planning at the club, so I went looking for some activities to represent both the Games and South Korea. Here are a few that I found, that you might want to try with the kids at your club:
Floor hockey and sock skating
Two fun and easy Olympic sports that you can do inside!
Olympic ski jumping challenge
How far can you make your ski-jumper go?
Home-made snow
We don't often have snow here in the UK, so why not make some of your own?
Small world Winter Olympics
Make your own miniature Winter Olympics course. You could even use some of the home-made snow (see above) for added authenticity.
Blow skiing
This simple ski-slalom game is really easy to set up.
Sugar painting snowflakes
Create some beautiful snowflakes with sugar.
South Korean printables
Printable of the South Korean flag and other Korean-themed colouring pages.
Kongki Noli
Try this traditional Korean challenge game.
