Details of vacancy
We are looking for a warm friendly person to help look after children at after school club and support the manager in the everyday running of the club. The job is for 3 months from September to December 2026. As well as having an up to date DBS, the right person should be confident in leading a team in regards safeguarding and child protection, they must be a good role model to the children and help with admin, policy writing and make sure that staff are following procedures.

- Experience of working with 4 to 8 year olds in a play/education setting
- Appropriate Level 3 qualification in play or childcare.
- Experience of administration
- Appropriate levels of child protection training/safeguarding training
- Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate or will be happy to gain this qualification through training.
- Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
- Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
- Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
- Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
- Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
- Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills
- Sound judgement and common sense
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*
